Study on the formulations for Topical Skin Protectant against Liquid-Phase Chemical Warfare Agents

چکیده
Chemical warfare agents(CWA) such as nerve agents and vesicating show lethality by skin contamination. Skin protection, therefore, is one of the top priorities to deal with growing threat from CWA. In an attempt develop most effective topical protectant(TSP), candidate substances including PFPE(perfluorinated polyether), PTFE(polytetrafluoroethylene), glycerin, polysaccharides were evaluated in forms various formulations against agent simulant DMMP(dimethylmethyl phosphonate) penetration. The protective efficacy formulation DMMP penetration was estimated onset time color change KM9 chemical detection paper. Based on this study, it found that several PFPE- glycerin-based exhibit remarkably superior a cream. This cream expected be used TSP for military application after further research.

N,N-dichloropolystyrene sulfonamide as a decontaminant was synthesized in 5 steps from styrene monomer. Styrene was first polymerized. Then, sulfonation reaction was performed by H2SO4 (c) followed by chlorination with POCl3 obtain chlorosulfonated polystyrene. Amidification reaction was then applied to get sulfonamide resin. Sulfonamide resin was treat...

متن کاملNew CeO2 nanoparticles-based topical formulations for the skin protection against organophosphates
To reinforce skin protection against organophosphates (OPs), the development of new topical skin protectants (TSP) has received a great interest. Nanoparticles like cerium dioxide (CeO2) known to adsorb and neutralize OPs are interesting candidates for TSP. However, NPs are difficult to disperse into formulations and they are suspected of toxicological issues. Thus, we want to study: (1) the ef...
